WHAT IS THE ULTIMATE HALLOWEEN block PARTY
The Ultimate Neighborhood Block Party is our new take on traditional trick-or-treating—designed to bring the entire neighborhood outside for the evening instead of keeping everyone behind their front doors. We'll transform the whole street into a connected, immersive Halloween wonderland filled with festive décor, trick-or-treat moments, photo opportunities, games, music, entertainment, and themed gathering spaces.
The experience is playful, nostalgic, family-friendly, and just spooky enough to feel special without becoming a haunted house. It can also be scaled to include older kids, adults, local businesses, and additional entertainment based on the neighborhood’s goals, budget, and level of participation.
Who's Behind This?
We’re Spooky Studios, a Halloween experiential company creating immersive, community-focused spooky moments for neighborhoods, families and brands. We’re originally Midwesterners who recently moved from New York City and have always loved the way Halloween can bring people together.
While in New York, we helped bring Halloween on Hudson Boo-levard to life in Hudson Yards, transforming Bella Abzug Park into a festive community celebration filled with an immersive trick-or-treat trail, themed décor, photo moments, games, live entertainment, a costume contest, and an outdoor movie screening.
Now, we want to bring that same creativity, energy, and sense of community to neighborhoods here through a new spin on traditional trick-or-treating - one that encourages neighbors to come outside, participate together, and turn the entire block into a shared Halloween experience.
Outside of the spooky world, our team has worked on large-scale projects for brands and events including FIFA, Disney, NBCUniversal, Comcast, TelevisaUnivision, and more.
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
1. Interested household sign-up
Complete the quick household form to let us know whether you’re in. You’ll share your contact information, choose the experience level that interests you most, and place a $100 refundable deposit to reserve your household’s spot. You can also join the neighborhood WhatsApp group to discuss the idea with your neighbors.
2. SPOOKY EXPERIENCE SELECTION
Once enough households have said yes, Spooky Studios will send participating households a final link to vote on the experience level they’d like to move forward with and their preferred event date. If the neighborhood decides to close the street, the party doesn't have to happen on Halloween night.
3. Make it your own
After the package is confirmed, participating households will help select the games, photo ops, and/or activations included in the experience. Each household can also customize its own family treat-stop design, which Spooky Studios will produce and install.
4. Get Halloween-ready
We’ll handle the planning and production while you bring the Halloween spirit to your home. Decorate your house, carve the pumpkins, prep the costumes, and stock up on candy if it isn’t included in your package. Prefer to leave the decorating to us? Spooky Studios can transform your home for an additional cost.
5. Enjoy the magic!
On the day, Spooky Studios brings the experience to life, transforming your street into the Ultimate Halloween Block Party.

Your street can also choose the type of street closure that works best for your neighborhood. Keep the street open for an elevated trick-or-treat experience with no street-closure permit, close the street for a private celebration just for your block, or create a larger neighborhood event that welcomes families from surrounding streets. We’ll help guide you through the appropriate permit process based on the option your street selects.
The total cost will depend on which experience level the street selects, how many add-ons are included, and whether the neighborhood chooses to close the street. Not every household has to participate—the experience can move forward as long as the full package cost is covered by the participating households. Once the group has voted, Spooky Studios will present a clear budget based on the selected package and final event details. (See step-by-step explanation above).
How mUCH WOULD THIS COST?
do I have to decorate my own house?
No. You do not have to fully decorate your own home to participate. Some houses may want to go all out on their own, while others may simply contribute toward the shared neighborhood experience. The goal is to make the block feel festive as a whole, so participation can look different from house to house depending on what each household is comfortable with. For anyone who does want help decorating their individual home, Spooky Studios can also provide custom home décor support as a separate add-on. And even if the full neighborhood block party does not move forward, individual home decorating packages may still be available for households who want to create their own Halloween moment.
i want to particpate, but i'll be gone. what can i do?
No problem! You can still contribute to the shared event and be part of making the night happen. If you'd like your house to be involved as well, you can also choose our “Gone Fishing” package, which includes a small grouping of low-profile decorations or inflatables that we’ll set up in your yard before the event and remove afterward. That way, your home can still join the fun, even when you’re out of town.
would this be scary?
The goal is fun, festive, and family-friendly, not a haunted house. Think spooky fun photo moments, games, atmospheric lighting, music, and playful Halloween details. If the neighborhood wants a few slightly creepier moments, that can be voted on later, but the overall vibe would be welcoming for kids, families, and neighbors.
